Marshmallow provides car and van insurance in the UK, focusing on newcomers who have driving experience from abroad. It uses a customer-centric pricing approach that takes into account the driver’s entire driving history, including foreign experience, to offer fairer, potentially lower premiums—up to 45% cheaper than traditional UK-only pricing. The product is delivered through a user-friendly app and 24/7 claims support via live chat, with a FAQ for quick help. In addition to standard car insurance, Marshmallow also offers van insurance and transition services such as translation and guidance on UK driving laws. Revenue comes from premiums, with optional monthly payment plans. The company differentiates itself by recognizing international driving history rather than UK-only experience, aiming to ease the transition for newcomers and provide affordable coverage aligned with actual driving experience.

Carplus partners with Marshmallow to open up car finance for new UK residents. * March 30, 2026 LONDON, UK. March 30th, 2026 - Carplus has announced that Marshmallow has joined its panel of lenders, bringing new options for people who have recently moved to the UK and are looking to access car finance. Marshmallow is a UK-based financial technology company founded in 2017. Originally known for disrupting the car insurance market for people new to the UK - by factoring in overseas driving history rather than defaulting to no-record pricing - the company has since expanded into lending, applying the same data-driven, internationally-aware approach to credit decisions. By adding Marshmallow to its lender panel, Carplus is now better equipped to serve customers whose UK credit file may not reflect their true financial profile. For those customers, this means a meaningfully better chance of securing the finance they need to get on the road. Roman Danaev, Founder of Carplus said: "Marshmallow has already changed how insurance works for this group, and we're proud to be working with them to do the same for car finance. Their mission is now ours too: making car finance accessible for people who have recently moved to the UK. This partnership marks another step in our journey to help more customers across the UK get on the road." The partnership forms part of Carplus's broader strategy to expand access across a wider range of customer circumstances. As the UK's population continues to grow through work, study and family migration, demand for flexible and fairly assessed financial products is increasing. Carplus and Marshmallow are both committed to ensuring that length of UK residency is not a barrier to financial inclusion. Got news you'd like to share with the world? From 19th-century Palace to award-winning workspace: celebrating success in Budapest. Dragonflyprojects is delighted to share some exciting news. One of its most recent projects has been recognised at the Hungarian Office of the Year Awards, with Marshmallow's Budapest office receiving a Special Commendation. The project also earned the honour of featuring on the cover of Octogon, Hungary's leading design and architecture magazine. The Budapest office is housed in a stunning 19th-century building, Wagner Palace - a space full of history, character, and architectural significance. Its challenge was to honour that heritage while transforming the space into a truly world-class modern workplace, one capable of supporting Marshmallow's continued growth and the way their people actually work today. Working closely with the Marshmallow team, Dragonflyprojects delivered a comprehensive programme of improvements including: * Leasing advisory to ensure appropriate terms, sufficient landlord contributions and delivery of all landlord works as committed * Intelligent space planning to increase desk capacity without compromising the quality of the environment * Enhanced acoustic performance to support focused work and reduce the noise challenges that often come with open-plan, high-ceilinged spaces * Revitalised social and breakout areas to foster collaboration and give people places to recharge * Transformed communal and dining zones, converting previously underused areas into vibrant, functional spaces the whole team can enjoy The result is a workplace that feels as special as the building it calls home. A Partnership Built on Trust This project carries particular meaning for Dragonflyprojects. Its relationship with Marshmallow dates back to 2005, when founder Freddie went to school with their two founders - a friendship that's never wavered. In 2021, Marshmallow asked Dragonfly to PM the fit-out of their London office with one instruction: "don't mess it up!" Four years on, that trust remains intact. Being invited to take its partnership to Budapest - while continuing to support their London base - is something Dragonflyprojects is genuinely proud of. It's proof that great working relationships don't end at practical completion. They evolve, deepen, and sometimes take you somewhere unexpected. Quite literally, in this case. What This Means to Us Awards matter, but what really resonates is the work behind them. When a great client, a remarkable building, and a shared ambition align, the results can be something truly special. This project is proof of that. Congratulations to the entire Marshmallow team - you've built something worth celebrating. Here's to many more chapters together! Marshmallow and Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket Foundation launch Community Tape Ball League to celebrate culture, community and cricket. * The Marshmallow x L&RCF Community Tape Ball League will be run across Leicester and surrounding communities. * The new league will feature around 15 community teams across both men's and women's divisions, with weekly fixtures taking place from early 2026 * As part of the partnership, Marshmallow will be the league's Lead Community Partner. * The league will be launched at a Community Launch Festival, which will be joined by English and Leicestershire Cricketer, Rehan Ahmed. Leicester, 16 December 2025: Marshmallow, the car insurance platform providing fairer deals to newcomers and migrants, and Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket Foundation (L&RCF), have joined forces to launch a new Tape Ball League, Marshmallow x L&RCF Community Tape Ball League. As well as being a co-founder of the league, Marshmallow will be the Lead Community Partner. Run across Leicester and surrounding communities, the league aims to bring people together, celebrate cultural diversity, and create opportunities for newcomers to integrate through the game of cricket. Leicester is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the UK, with 43% of the population being of Asian background and 41% being born outside the UK. With many of its residents being first- or second-generation migrants, sport plays a vital role in bringing the community together and creating a sense of belonging. Tape Ball, which originated in Pakistan, is a fast, accessible and easy to play form of cricket. This, and the fact it requires minimal equipment, has meant it has become one of the most popular forms of cricket across South Asian communities worldwide. By establishing a dedicated Tape Ball League, Marshmallow and the L&RCF are formalising and celebrating a format that is already deeply rooted in local culture. The new league will feature multiple community teams across both men's and women's divisions, with weekly fixtures taking place from early 2026. Open to players of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities, the league will offer a welcoming environment for the local Leicestershire community, offering a place for newcomers to build friendships, stay active, and stay connected to the sport many grew up with. Oliver Kent-Braham, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Marshmallow said: "Marshmallow works closely with many communities across the UK, and this partnership forms part of our commitment to supporting migrants integrating into life in the UK. We understand the challenges newcomers face, from navigating a new system to finding friendships and feeling at home, so we are proud to be investing in programmes that make a real difference to people settling into life here." Research from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) found that 92% of cricket players felt the sport made them feel part of a community and 83% felt that cricket has made them more appreciative of people from different backgrounds. Paul Gaskin, Head of Cricket Participation, Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket Foundation said: "The Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket Foundation has a long history of championing accessible cricket formats, with a mission to ensure cricket is a game for everyone, despite background, experience or ability. This partnership expands our community offering and builds on its work with South Asian, migrant and underserved communities across the region. Cricket is a sport that brings people together from a wide range of communities and backgrounds, giving them a greater sense of belonging and social cohesion, and we are delighted to partner with Marshmallow to bring tape ball cricket into the spotlight." The Community Launch Festival, taking place in Early 2026, will mark the official start of the league. The festival will feature mini cricket matches, cultural performances and food stalls. England and Leicestershire Cricketer, Rehan Ahmed, said: "Cricket is more than a sport, it's a community. It brings people together from all backgrounds and gives them a genuine sense of belonging. Growing up in a Pakistani family living in the UK, cricket has always been a way for me to connect with my heritage and roots, while also building friendships and being active within the community. This league will give so many people in Leicester the chance to experience that." This partnership follows Marshmallow's announcement in September as Official Player Sponsors of Rehan Ahmed for the rest of the 2025 season and the full 2026 campaign.
In April 2025, the European tech ecosystem saw a significant 42 per cent drop in total capital raised month-over-month, falling to €3.3 billion from €5.7 billion in March. Despite the sharp decline in funding volume, deal activity increased, with 311 deals recorded in April versus 297 in March, suggesting that while fewer large-scale deals were closed, investor interest remained strong, shifting instead toward a higher number of smaller investments. A key driver of this trend appears to be a change in sector focus. Whereas March was dominated by large funding rounds in the gaming industry, April saw investor attention pivot toward fintech—an area typically characterised by earlier-stage or mid-sized investments
