Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA certification required
  • Experience with accounting for derivatives and hedging in accordance with ASC 815
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, including SEC reporting requirements
  • 8+ years of accounting experience, and one of the following: Minimum 4 years of experience in public accounting or Minimum 4 years of experience within an external reporting team of a publicly traded manufacturing company
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical accounting guidance across the global organization for Alcoa’s most complex accounting and reporting topics in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Document accounting positions for review by management and auditors; present complex accounting topics to senior management.
  • Manage the accounting and reporting for the Company’s derivatives and embedded derivatives, including evaluation, documentation, accounting and reporting for new derivative strategies.
  • Represent Alcoa's financial and accounting interests by providing input on financials, terms, pricing, and legal commitments on mergers, acquisition and divestiture transactions.
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly segment, legal entity and operations level financial results and summarize analysis for senior financial management.
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly communications on earnings results to the Company’s Audit Committee and periodic SEC filings.
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules and disclosures for 10-Q / 10-K filings with the SEC.
  • Participate in activities related to the quarterly reviews and the annual audit performed by external auditors.
