  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 10 years of experience in engineering or aerospace with a bachelor’s degree, or 7 years with an advanced degree
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with Design, Structures, and Methods engineering management to establish operational plans for work area
  • Perform structural assessments, including creation of analytical models (components, assemblies, and sub-models) and contribution to evaluation of CMC component laminate architecture and interfacing hardware.
  • Develop and implement new products, processes / methods, standards and improve existing processes and practices driving positive impact to the success of the CMC Acceleration Team
  • Methods development, including User Material Sub-routine development and enhancement (e.g., Ansys, Abaqus)
  • Utilize AGILE and continuous improvement tools in everyday work to meet product requirements.
  • Travel up to 10%
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or an advanced degree in Mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in engineering with an emphasis on turbine airfoils, structures, or composite analysis (PMCs or CMCs)
  • Recognized master within discipline, having deep knowledge of theory and organizational practices within a specific discipline to address complex problems.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Finite Element Analysis Experience (e.g., ANSYS MAPDL, ANSYS Workbench. ANSYS ACP, NASTRAN, Abaqus, LS-DYNA, Hypermesh)
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Strong engineering problem solving that will enable the transformation of the organization
