Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing is required, with a Master of Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice accepted in lieu of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • A minimum of three years of related clinical nursing experience is required.
  • The applicant must have considerable knowledge of complex medical terminology and advanced disease processes.
  • The applicant must have the ability to delegate to appropriate personnel and establish and maintain collaborative relationships internally and externally.
  • The applicant must have strong organizational skills and the ability to rapidly prioritize and reprioritize.
  • The applicant must have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work autonomously and in teams.
  • The applicant must have critical-thinking and multitasking skills.
  • The applicant must be licensed as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
  • The applicant must be able to perform the stated physical job functions, including standing, sitting, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, and exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
  • The applicant must be able to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • The applicant must be able to work in a latex-safe environment and maintain the stated sensory, vision, hearing, and physical capabilities.
  • The applicant must be physically qualified for respirator use initially and as required for selected positions.
Responsibilities
  • Offer individualized assistance to oncology patients and caregivers to help overcome healthcare system barriers.
  • Utilize the nursing process to promote informed decision-making and timely access to quality patient care.
  • Provide a vital communication link between multidisciplinary internal and external providers during initial treatment planning.
Desired Qualifications
  • Oncology nursing experience is preferred.
