Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience as a UX Designer, ideally in some combination of journalism, education and media with a focus on digital design, UI/UX, user interface design or web design
  • Experience owning the user experience components of major feature sets or products, from conception and ideation to post-launch optimization
  • Experience leading design work in an agile and fast-moving environment
  • Extensive experience leveraging research techniques and data for design decisions
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Diligence and attention to detail
  • Ability to balance short-term fixes and long-term roadmap
  • Familiarity with web technologies such as WordPress, HTML, as well as understanding of content management systems
  • Deep understanding of experience design approaches and methodologies, including design thinking, usability, AB Testing and prototyping
  • Collaborative, diplomatic and excellent communicator
  • Preferred but not required, Bachelor’s Degree in areas of study such as graphic design, fine arts, human factors, design and visual communication
Responsibilities
  • Report to the VP of Product and work with other product managers on the team
  • Collaborate with off-shore design resources
  • Own all UX assets and deliverables to ensure they are thorough, thought-through, intuitive, easy to use, timely, and visually successful
  • Focus on leading the UX across the entire product team and supporting the ongoing product strategy with expert guidance around improving and optimizing the site via user experience improvements
  • Serve as the conduit between multiple teams, and work with product and engineering leaders across the organization, as well as off-shore design resources with the goal of driving mechanisms to connect those teams’ work into a single, cohesive, end-to-end experience for our customers
