To support the changing operational needs in our company effectively, the Workplace Operations team takes an assessment between our business requirements and risks as a trusted professional advisor from an occupational safety and environmental perspective.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for an individual who is available on-site in Ann Arbor with prior Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) experience in a fast-paced environment. The EHS Assistant Manager will contribute their safety experience in topics such as LOTO, incident investigation, lasers, and PIT to create new programs across our locations. It is hybrid role based in Palo Alto, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct on-site meetings with our Bay Area and Ann Arbor teams to investigate incidents, address concerns, and complete risk assessments/SOPs.
- Perform regulatory inspections, address non-conformances, and manage data collection, including CERS, biennial waste reports, OSHA logs, and other reporting requirements.
- Help create policies, procedures, plans, and training on several EHS topics such as PPE, IIPP, FOG, SPCC, lasers, LOTO, PIT, and wildfire smoke.
- Manage contracts with vendors, oversee budgets, coordinate emergency response teams, and conduct regular tabletop exercises/drills.
- Develop Business Continuity Plans, provide training, and coordinate tabletop exercises with cross-functional teams.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. degree in related field (environmental science/ health and safety)
- 5+ years of experience in relevant industry with expertise in EHS regulations.
- Prior certification(s) of RCRA/DOT/CPR/First Aid
- Prior experience completing incident investigations and risk assessments
- Prior experience with LOTO
NICE TO HAVES
- ASP/CSP Preferred
- Prior HAZWOPER/ emergency response experience
- Experience with Resolver or other EHS software
- Experience working closely with diverse teams
