  • At least 12 years of progressively senior agricultural operations experience is required, including at least 5 years at a multi-cluster or multi-crop programme level.
  • Experience in contract farming, out-grower schemes, or large cooperative management is acceptable when it included real profit-and-loss accountability.
  • Hands-on technical knowledge is required across banana, including tissue culture establishment, ratoon management, and TR4 biosecurity; red chilli, including nursery production, drip fertigation, and dried-pod quality; turmeric, including rhizome handling, curing, and AGMARK grading; and commercial pulses. Ginger knowledge is a significant advantage.
  • The candidate must be able to specify bed-forming geometry for turmeric or chilli, set drip tape spacing and flow rate for banana, verify boom sprayer calibration output, and assess whether a rhizome harvesting line is set correctly.
  • Knowledge of drip design parameters, lateral management, electrical conductivity and pH control, fertigation compatibility and sequence is required, along with the ability to troubleshoot irrigation systems in the field.
  • Financial literacy is required, including farm-level profit and loss, input cost modelling, mechanisation cost per hectare, offtake value chains, and ownership of cluster-level budgets.
  • Experience operating enterprise resource planning or farm management software, Excel at a modelling level, and artificial intelligence tools for reporting and decision support is required. Notion and Slack are used as communication infrastructure.
  • Telugu and/or Kannada as a working language is strongly preferred, and English is required for reporting and senior communication.
  • Three verifiable professional references are required, including at least one from a direct superior in a multi-site agricultural operations role and one from a peer or direct report who can speak to operational discipline and leadership under pressure.
Responsibilities
  • Own delivery of the seasonal operating plan across all India clusters from land preparation through harvest and offtake handover.
  • Plan, resource, execute, and document land preparation, planting, crop protection, harvest, and post-harvest operations against specification.
  • Plan tractor and implement deployment across clusters and enforce implement calibration standards before field operations begin.
  • Confirm and quality-check input supply before planting windows open and manage vendor performance against delivery commitments.
  • Manage the representative network, build working relationships that sustain compliance across seasons, coach or replace representatives when required, and act quickly on performance issues.
  • Verify drip system integrity at season start, align fertigation schedules with agronomic plans, monitor electrical conductivity and pH within specification, and manage pressure testing and clog prevention.
  • Enforce agronomic clearance gates and stop planting or crop-protection activities that do not meet agronomic requirements or standard operating procedures.
  • Track cost per hectare against budget by cluster and crop, investigate cost overruns, and approve mechanisation and contractor invoices only after verifying work completion.
  • Report plan versus actual cost and yield weekly.
  • Maintain accurate, real-time operational data in FinAgra’s farm management system, including plot-level records and photo evidence.
  • Build and develop the on-ground operations team, establish performance standards, coach team members, assess performance honestly, and take responsibility for team output.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master of Science degree is preferred.
  • Ginger production knowledge is a significant advantage.
  • Telugu and/or Kannada as a working language is strongly preferred.

FinAgra mobilizes capital, agronomy expertise, and technology to rural farmers to transform fragmented farmland into scalable, high-yield operations. It does this through three pillars: scaling inputs and land access, integrating climate-smart agronomy and precision tools, and supporting local rural entrepreneurs with an operating model and guidance. By aggregating land, equipping farms with best-practice inputs, and empowering local leadership, it creates larger, more efficient farms. Its goal is to build productive agricultural ecosystems that raise yields, boost farm incomes, and strengthen rural communities.
