About our team:
We’re a diverse group of creative people that love to learn, collaborate, and solve large-scale problems. We’re looking for an inquisitive, curious, and talented Lead Technologist to join our team and spearhead the development effort for our design systems team.
Your work will impact and influence the user experience of a product used by millions of people daily. As a Lead Technologist , you will work closely with other designers, engineers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders. While this is not a managerial role with direct reports, we expect our Lead Technologist to lead by example and coach the team into doing their best work.

What you’ll do
- Responsible for creating the development roadmap and overseeing priority and execution for components, libraries, patterns and documentation of our design system
- Maintain and improve a Design System development contribution model for the product organization
- Plan strategically as a partner with engineers to define the future of design systems
- Drive momentum around priorities with resilience and positivity
- Ensure pertinent information is communicated and understood by partners and leadership
- Help to maintain and improve cross-functional collaboration, relationships and processes around the system
- Measure, improve, and align system impact metrics with company objectives and help communicate the value of the Design System on the business
- Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of modern front-end build systems and languages
- Strong understanding of UI performance and latency optimization
- Strong appreciation for design, attention to detail and accuracy in implementation
- Strong knowledge of accessibility guidelines
- Strong understanding of localization needs and how to embed into components
In addition to deep, applied knowledge of Design Systems, this role requires
- Human-focused, highly-collaborative, critical and strategic thinker.
- Successful track record of creating and managing impactful design systems and processes.
- At least 12 years of relevant professional experience, with 5+ years in building and maintaining design systems
- You have a body of work that highlights design systems you have created or largely contributed to.
Compensation
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.
- For Colorado-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $203,000- $248,000.
- For New York City-based and California (excluding Bay Area) and Washington D.C. hires: Estimated annual salary of $230,000 - $281,000.
- For Bay Area-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $234,000 - $286,000.
