Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • February 2026 OASAS funding supports a new comprehensive outpatient program with buprenorphine access.
  • The organization already serves Essex and Franklin counties through multiple outpatient locations.
  • Supportive housing and 24-hour peer access strengthen retention and reduce relapse-driven drop-off.

What critics are saying

  • June 2026 bed conversion notice signals reliance on state approval and reimbursement changes.
  • Local competitors gain settlement-funded outpatient capacity, pressuring patient acquisition in Franklin County.
  • Any New York opioid-settlement funding slowdown would choke the 2026 outpatient expansion pipeline.

What makes St. Joseph’s Addiction Treatment & Recovery Centers unique

  • Saranac Lake offers 90-day inpatient stays, rare among New York programs.
  • St. Joseph's spans inpatient, outpatient, supportive housing, veterans, first responders, and gambling treatment.
  • OASAS tracks it statewide, and 2026 settlement-funded outpatient expansion broadens reach.
