Fondaction and BDC invest in Icentia to accelerate cardiovascular diagnostic tech rollout

Fondaction and the Business Development Bank of Canada have invested in Icentia, a Québec medical technology company. The funding round, which included existing investors Investissement Québec, CIC Capital, and the Theodorus Fund, will accelerate deployment of Icentia's CardioSTAT® technology. CardioSTAT® is a long-term ambulatory cardiac monitoring solution combining a single-use ECG recorder with artificial intelligence-powered analysis. The technology enables early detection of cardiac arrhythmias, helping prevent complications as heart disease becomes more prevalent. The investment comes as Icentia reaches financial and operational self-sufficiency, supported by commercial traction across several key markets. Icentia operates cardiac diagnostic facilities in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Fondaction manages more than $4.5 billion in net assets as of 31 May 2026.
