Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred, with emphasis in Social Work, Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in student support, academic advising, admissions, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a university or higher education setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfortability navigating cloud-based systems and learning new software programs.
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools and customer relationship management platforms
  • Ability to research situations using all available university databases and resources
Responsibilities
  • Advise students on academic policies and procedures, including withdrawals, interruptions of training, changes in enrollment, and satisfactory academic progress.
  • Perform all job functions on-campus in Winter Park, FL, shifts may include nights and weekends.
  • Serve as a source of motivation and support to assigned cohorts by frequently reconnecting the student with their dreams and career aspirations.
  • Monitor student performance and proactively reach out to those with low GPAs, poor attendance, or minimal class involvement.
  • Mentor and advise students through scheduled in-person or virtual appointments and walk-in sessions.
  • Initiate and process academic paperwork such as Withdrawal Forms and Interruption of Training documentation.
  • Meet with students and/or parents in person and virtually provide academic and personal support.
  • Collaborate with Course Directors, Academic Coordinators, Academic Success teams, and Registrars to ensure coordinated student support.
  • Maintain and update referral resources for academic, personal, and career support.
  • Address student complaints, concerns, or suggestions in a professional, constructive, and timely manner.
  • Encourage student engagement and persistence through outreach and support initiatives.
  • Empower students to establish goals and develop skills for personal and professional growth.
  • Assist students in navigating university systems, accessing available resources and finding creative solutions to their challenges
Desired Qualifications
