Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
  • At least 10–15 years of experience leading construction or building consulting projects is required.
  • Strong estimating and project management expertise using Xactimate, Bluebeam, P6, or Microsoft Project is required.
  • The role requires the ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and communicate findings clearly.
  • The candidate must be comfortable working in the field, including on roofs, at heights, in tight spaces, and in post-loss environments.
  • The candidate must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel approximately 30%.
  • The role requires willingness to travel approximately 30% of the workweek and attend meetings or work-related activities outside normal daytime business hours.
  • The role requires the physical ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, and feel while investigating and assessing property damage, including lifting up to 50 pounds and a ladder.
  • The role requires close visual acuity for preparing reports, viewing computer terminals, using a keyboard, reading printed documents, conducting detailed visual inspections, perceiving color and depth, and maintaining sufficient field of vision.
  • The role may require working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions, disaster or catastrophe sites, areas with noise, vibrations, moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation, crawl spaces, enclosed areas, roofs, and scaffolding.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of construction consultants on property damage evaluations.
  • Oversee project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables from start to finish.
  • Provide expert analysis, estimates, and written reports supporting high-value client decisions.
  • Build relationships with clients, field staff, and third-party consultants.
  • Resolve complex technical issues, identify risks, and ensure accurate, defensible findings.
  • Drive consistency in estimating, workflow, documentation, and quality standards.
  • Support company initiatives and continuously improve processes, tools, and team capabilities.
  • Represent DBI during site visits, client updates, and negotiations.
