Requirements
- BS / MS in Mechanical Engineering w/ 5+ years of industry experience in Mechanical Design
- Prior mid/high volume design experience (preference in Automotive or Aerospace)
- Proficient in CAD design and working knowledge of PLM systems - CATIA and 3DExperience preferred, not required
- Extensive experience in part design, material selection, and manufacturing processes
- GD&T
- Ability to own projects and sub-systems as an independent self-starter
- Strong technical documentation and communication of technical information
Responsibilities
- Advance prototype sensor clusters into well-engineered, multi-modal sensor products
- Performs necessary DFM/DFA for the transition to high volume
- Design for prototype and mass-production including machined, injection-molded, formed, die-casted, and extruded parts
- Perform design analysis including stress, strain, thermal, modal, and tolerance
- Create 2-D drawings and documentation with GD&T and SPC fundamentals
- Interact and communicate with OEM partners
- Develop products for both cars and class 8 trucks which comply to industry standards
- Collaborate closely with EE and harness teams on sensor and sensor pod products
Desired Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of autonomy sensors (camera, lidar, radar)
- Automotive structure design experience (stampings, castings, weldments)
- PCBA design and packaging experience
- CATIA proficiency
