Requirements
  • PhD degree in biomedical/electrical engineering, computer science/engineering, physics, or related fields
  • strong background in instrumentation prototyping, particularly with experience on building optical imaging systems
  • experience in near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS), diffuse optical tomography (DOT), fluorescence imaging and other biomedical optics research are preferred
  • hands on experience with spectrometers, scientific cameras, optical fibers, optical and optomechanical components are desired
  • experience in scientific programming using MATLAB/Python/C/C++ for data analysis and algorithm development will be favorably considered
  • good writing and communication skills are required
  • candidate is expected to be highly creative and self-motivated and capable of working in a collaborative environment
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, testing and optimization of optical imaging hardware
  • Develop data acquisition software and algorithms for data processing
  • Perform phantom and human clinical studies
  • Co-supervise graduate students
  • Collaborate with clinicians and other collaborators of the lab
Desired Qualifications
