Requirements
  • Preferred field(s) of study: Non-profit administration, public administration, public policy, urban planning, capital or public finance, economics, and/or GIS.
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for the mission of NYCEDC.
  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in using database and presentation tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to work in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM and complete the entirety of the 10-week program.
Responsibilities
  • Assist project manager directly and significantly with active projects
  • Work with department staff to facilitate the implementation of contracts funding capital construction projects throughout NYC
  • Assist project managers in researching, data collection, writing technical briefs, and designing classes/workshops
  • Assist project managers in collecting, reviewing and processing project documents
  • Assist in reviewing, approving, and tracking a large volume of reimbursements requests from client organizations
  • Coordinate between external agencies, internal departments, and funding recipients the collection and maintenance of compliance documentation
  • Work with project managers to develop and implement process solutions to improve operational efficiency
  • Assist with coordinating and hosting departmental programming events
  • Monitor and track internal inquiries by other department, City agencies, and client organizations
  • Perform general department office duties
  • Other duties as assigned
