  • BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years. Additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • In-depth experience in several areas: system architecture, design and development, requirements analysis, data flow design/analysis, network design/implementation, testing, technical system documentation.
  • Substantial experience with data centers and/or server rooms, including Rack based Servers, Network Switches, KVM's, Routers, Backup and Recovery devices, Firewalls, and security appliances.
  • Experience with typical data center related software such as Virtualization platforms, Microsoft/Linux server management, Network Switch and Firewall client applications, antivirus, and backup and recovery software.
  • At least 5 years of experience with infrastructure components (Servers, Switches, Firewalls, and other Enterprise Infrastructure hardware).
  • At least 5 years of experience working with network design or foundational networking.
  • At least 5 years of experience working on system architecture design, building, and integration.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining Windows and Linux systems (not Help Desk/ticket experience).
  • Requirements verification traceability experience.
  • Experience analyzing user requirements, system architecture, and/or system requirements specifications.
  • Experience in discovery, research and analysis for hardware and software transitions.
  • Experience gathering information related to the lifecycle of equipment and software.
  • Solid understanding of secure systems engineering and development.
  • Comfortable working on multiple systems and components simultaneously in various configurations.
  • Able to effectively plan and prioritize tasking and communicate clearly regarding technical options and trade-offs.
  • Capable of performing systems engineering activities in support of Agile teams on a large program.

Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support for system engineering of large-scale systems, major system elements, and interfacing systems that are part of a large complex network environment with geographically distributed components.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for future system enhancements and design.
  • Update System Engineering Documentation.
  • Provide Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) or similar evaluation methodologies.
  • Interface with Program Management, System and Software Integration Engineers, Test Engineers, Information Assurance Engineers, and other project team members in an Agile environment.
  • Develop and implement system engineering practices ensuring the proper degree of engineering rigor is applied to all assigned tasks.
  • Communicate with and effectively collaborate with internal technical professionals on a day-to-day basis, and with representatives from customer organizations when necessary.
  • Actively participate in program increment planning and related Agile team activities.
  • Provide hands on technical assistance to engineering teams for data gathering and auditing purposes throughout multiple data centers.

  • Hands-on experience maintaining hardware and software and/or tracking hardware assets and/or software licenses.
  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology or as a member of an Agile team.
  • Experience working as an admin on Windows Server and Linux Server platforms.
