As a Contracts Manager in the Legal and Business Affairs team at Sony Music UK, you will focus on drafting, negotiating and concluding a range of legal agreements, with a fast-paced turnaround across multiple stakeholders. You will report to the Director of Contract Administration in the central Legal & BA team and will provide support to label lawyers and central team where required.
What you’ll do:
- Advise and respond on Catalogue artist enquiries
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on various agreements such as:
- Feature agreements
- Video production agreements
- Photographer or artwork agreements
- Performance release forms
- Terms and conditions for prize draws
Who you are:
- Previous experience with similar agreements (preferably from a record company or music industry)
- Ability to demonstrate experience of autonomously negotiating terms and concluding these types of contracts.
- Understanding of the legal and regulatory issues relating to prize draws.
- Thorough understanding of copyright law, and ability to analyse new industry developments.
- Ability to be proactive in problem-solving, and to take a solutions-orientated approach.
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage workload to achieve tight delivery turnaround times
- Consistent attention to detail and thorough approach to drafting, negotiating and concluding contracts
- Good written and verbal communication skills to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders and respond to queries with clear advice.
