Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Genetics or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years post-Ph.D. work experience, including industry experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company
  • Demonstrated experience in translating genetics into biological mechanisms
  • Experience in leading complex collaborative projects from strategic planning to deployment of analytical capabilities as well as data needed to pursue drug discovery opportunities
  • Interest in understanding molecular patho-mechanisms determining disease initiation and/or progression
  • Experience in performing integrative omics analysis (genetics, genomics, proteomics, etc.)
  • Knowledge of biology in at least one disease-relevant area
  • Demonstrated experience in processing and interpretation of functional, large scale, datasets (e.g. RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, sc/snRNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics etc.)
  • Strong quantitative skills and a background in statistical data analysis
  • Experience in writing robust code in R or Python
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to convey complex computational results to colleagues from a wide range of life sciences backgrounds
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team oriented environment
  • Ability to work from 23andMe's office in South San Francisco a minimum of 2 days per week
  • Extensive experience in writing robust code in a shared development environment
  • Experience with cloud development (AWS, Azure, Google)
