Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A current license to practice professional nursing in the state is required.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications are required.
  • The role requires an experienced registered nurse with leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support nursing staff while providing patient care.
  • Act as a resource for patient care, staff education, and patient education.
  • Participate in and advise the center's Quality Council and other internal performance improvement teams.
  • Supervise and assist nursing staff throughout the surgical center and support the Clinical Leadership team.
  • Supervise the general flow of patients and assess and assist nursing staff as needs arise.
  • Collect data and report assigned mandatory and center-specific monthly and quarterly reports to the Quality Council, including medical record audits, adverse drug reaction reports, narcotic audits, diversion risk rounds, handwash audits, infection control best-practice reports, housekeeping rounds, and additional requested reports and audits.
  • Assist with maintaining center survey readiness by assessing compliance with accreditation standards and regulations, identifying vulnerabilities, and helping develop compliance-enhancement strategies.
  • Communicate requests and practice changes to relevant personnel.
  • Lead and supervise the work of staff nurses.
  • Maintain working relationships with the nursing and care team, attend staff meetings, and encourage team input on care-service improvements.
  • Ensure staff comply with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including infection control.
  • Perform other duties assigned by center administrators.
