Requirements
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) completion is required.
  • Understanding of substance use disorders.
  • Competency in understanding substance abuse treatment practices.
  • Ability to interact effectively and respectfully with co-workers, clients, and others from diverse ethnic, religious, cultural, lifestyle, and sexual-orientation backgrounds.
  • Availability to work the graveyard shift and weekends.
  • Availability to work on-site in the Eugene, Oregon area or willingness to commute.
  • Approval of a Department of Human Services background check after an offer.
  • Successful pre-employment drug screening, including cannabis/tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), after an offer.
  • Former clients must observe a required 12-month waiting period before applying for employment.
Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, direct calls appropriately, take messages, and provide general program information.
  • Assist with copying, faxing, and helping individuals complete necessary forms.
  • Assist counselors with office duties to maintain efficient operations.
  • Maintain adherence to 42 CFR Part 2 and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations to protect client privacy.
  • Drive residents to scheduled appointments as needed.
  • Provide direct support to residents, including crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary.
  • Collect urine analysis samples from residents according to program protocols.
  • Notify supervisors, counselors, and management of critical resident information.
  • Enforce curfews, oversee bedtimes, complete bed checks, and supervise visits.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily logs and records.
  • Complete other tasks assigned by the Program Manager, Clinical Supervisor, or Program Director.
