Responsibilities
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled physical inspections and cycle counts of inventory.
  • Receive and stock inventory materials, supplies, and equipment in the department.
  • Pick and deliver replenishment inventory materials for par locations, scheduled orders, patient orders, and special orders within accepted timeframes.
  • Complete documentation associated with receiving, stocking, distribution, and inventory of products and equipment.
  • Enter inventory data into an electronic database to track, monitor, and document inventory levels and movement of durable equipment.
  • Contact internal and external sources to secure inventory items when necessary and coordinate their delivery.
  • Handle and transport floor-stock medications from Pharmacy to procedural areas in accordance with the medication-handling policy and procedure for non-licensed hospital staff.
  • Collect, decontaminate, and process durable medical equipment for circulation throughout the facility, including equipment that may contain medication, following appropriate guidelines.
  • Recognize urgent situations and customer needs, and take action to resolve issues.
  • Complete additional cross-training as determined appropriate by the supervisor.
  • Assist with the orientation, training, and cross-training of new or existing staff as determined appropriate by the supervisor.
  • Attend and constructively participate in educational events, informational opportunities, operational committees, and work groups as determined appropriate by the supervisor.
  • Carry out routine and non-routine assignments constructively and cooperatively, with emphasis on quality and timeliness.
  • Contribute to team efforts while maintaining specific routine assignments, assisting other staff members with task completion and appropriate training.
  • Maintain the condition of equipment, the work environment, and organizational property; identify and report equipment-performance abnormalities and property damage.
  • Keep work areas neat and clean.
  • Perform other related work as required or requested.
Desired Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous experience with customer service, inventory control, or medical products and equipment is preferred.
