Requirements
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in work experience and training (Marine or Mechanical Engineering preferred).
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in marine surveys, risk management, audits to ISM, Port State Control exams, and other safety management systems, and mechanical integrity (preferred).
  • Experience in the marine and offshore market.
  • Ability to promote maritime and offshore-related services.
  • Self-driven and motivated, desire to grow within the company.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.
Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of vessel surveys, including examining the hull, machinery, electrical systems, navigation equipment, safety features, and overall structural integrity and mechanical condition of the vessel or offshore facility.
  • In the event of a marine or offshore incident, perform damage assessments and investigate the incident.
  • The consultant will conduct safety management system audits in accordance with a national or international standard.
  • Conduct a gap analysis for clients to ensure they meet national or international standards and update and align SMS procedures with operational needs.
  • Project Management experience in managing marine and offshore engineering projects, including budget, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Familiar with international maritime and offshore regulations, such as those set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Understanding safety and environmental regulations is important.
  • In-depth knowledge of marine and offshore engineering principles, survey requirements, and practices. This includes hull, propulsion systems, marine structures, electrical systems, and marine operations.
  • The consultant is expected to identify and resolve complex technical and operational challenges. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for evaluating and proposing practical solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively conveying complex technical concepts to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • The ability to prepare detailed reports, feasibility studies, and technical documentation.
