Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Project Manager – Design to Cost (DTC)/ Life Cycle Cost Estimate (LCCE). This position is in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
This position will be key element of the Command and Launch (C&L) leadership team providing strategic contributions to future planning and positioning of the C&L Segment. The person filling this role will be a critical member of our team ensuring the programs is successful in achieving our manufacturing cost and schedule targets.
This position is responsible for performing affordability analysis to support Life Cycle Cost (LCC), Design to Cost (DTC), Cost as an Independent Variable (CAIV) and Cost Reduction Initiative (CRI) initiatives. Analytical tools/approaches leveraged include commercial/Gov’t parametric models, such as PRICE and SEER, as well as custom developed parametrics determining correlation between operational or technical requirements and cost.
This position requires experience developing complex cost models using advanced cost estimating techniques as well as excellent interpersonal skills required to solicit input, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of technical and programmatic leadership.
The person filling this position will be adept at consolidating and presenting financial key performance indicators; earned value management; summary technical and financial progress/projections toward performance goals; project schedule development and maintenance; and US Government CAIV compliance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years of related experience or a master’s degree and 7 years of related experience.
- Active or Current DoD Secret Clearance (awarded or reinvestigated within the past 5 years) and ability to obtain SAP program access (background investigation required).
- At least 5 years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
- 1 year of experience managing risks including subcontractor content.
- Active Secret clearance with investigation in the last 6 years
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s in Business (Finance, Accounting, Administration, or similar) from an accredited university with 13+ years of related experience or Masters of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline from an accredited university with 13+ years of related experience.
- Have experience with DoD Acquisition University program management certification.
- Have experience developing cost research models and cost risks analysis for complex systems aerospace systems.
- Working knowledge of cost parametric tools: ACEIT, SEER from Galorath and PRICE Systems & Analytics.
- Experience working with SEER-H, VBA and PRICE TruePlanning.
- Experience in Cost Data Analysis and Predictive Analytics; Tableau & Alteryx.
- Experience working with data visualization software (e.g., MS Excel including macros, Tableau Desktop, QlikView, MS Power BI, etc.) or any other data analysis software applications.
- Experience with data mining/analytics programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or BA.
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite of tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills across multiple levels.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. Relocation benefits are available for this opportunity.
Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $142,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
