Requirements
  • Complete duties in accordance with the relevant award, agreement, or contract.
  • Follow property procedures for grooming, performance, conduct, occupational health and safety, emergency procedures, and other hotel policies.
  • Comply with Accor health, safety, and environment policies, including safe manual handling, hazardous chemical and machinery use, working-at-heights procedures, and protective equipment requirements.
  • Maintain food-handling and presentation hygiene standards required by council and legislative regulations.
  • Be fully conversant with departmental fire and evacuation procedures, fire panels, and security and technical equipment.
  • Comply with liquor licensing requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of hotel, customer, and staff information and transactions.
Responsibilities
  • Attend to guests promptly, efficiently, and professionally throughout the overnight operation.
  • Update regular guest details using Guest History.
  • Action all diary events, flags, and special requests.
  • Check and promptly pass on guest mail, messages, and parcels.
  • Liaise with Housekeeping regarding room information and lost property.
  • Use the daily worksheet and ensure it is completed appropriately.
  • Ensure guest registration forms are completed correctly and update the computer system.
  • Ensure account postings are accurate and produce the necessary paperwork.
  • Perform an accurate cashiering balance at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain security procedures and ensure the safety and security of the property and people.
  • Complete Express Check-out envelopes and maintain security boxes according to procedure.
  • Report safety hazards, system problems, failures, inconsistencies, incidents, injuries, and maintenance issues to the appropriate manager.
  • Handle guest complaints promptly and efficiently.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, training, and development sessions.
  • Carry out audit tasks specified in the Night Auditor checklist.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and provide the correct welcome to callers and guests.
  • Distribute required reports.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions with the related paperwork.
  • Assist staff members with inquiries and seek assistance when the answer is unknown.
  • Process wake-up calls.
  • Provide a complete handover of information to the oncoming shift.
  • Perform regular night security rounds throughout hotel floors, the garage, and technical areas.
  • Visit the food and beverage outlets, gym, and garage on arrival and patrol hotel areas regularly.
  • Report fire, health and safety, and maintenance hazards identified during patrols.
  • Lock linen rooms after 10 p.m. and open them for the linen company.
  • Collect breakfast cards by 4:30 a.m. and deliver them to the kitchen.
  • Turn gym lights off and ensure they are on by 6 a.m.
  • Take room service orders accurately, ensure food is prepared safely and served within 30 minutes, leave the kitchen tidy, and prepare and deliver early breakfasts on time.
  • Complete all duties accurately within the required time frames and provide a concise handover.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and scheduled training and development programs.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workplace and ensure the building and hotel floor work are secure.
  • Apply hotel security regulations, including fire procedures.
  • Respect environmental commitments involving energy saving, recycling, and waste sorting.
  • Follow Accor brand standards, departmental service standards, procedure manuals, and policy manuals.
  • Provide efficient, friendly, and professional service to guests and respond positively to guest requests.
  • Take initiative to resolve customer interactions and contact the Manager on Duty when difficulties arise.
  • Promote hotel facilities and special offers through active selling.
  • Apply Accor values and customer-service standards.
  • Ensure employees receive a workplace free from discrimination, harassment, and victimisation where possible.
  • Perform other reasonable duties within the role's range of competence as requested by hotel management.
