SambaNova Systems is looking for a hands-on hardware validation/test engineer. In this position, you will be part of the hardware validation team, responsible for validating and testing the signal and power integrities of the high-speed interconnections/interfaces. You will work closely with HW/SW/System engineers and vendors to develop validation and hardware tests in a development environment.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Ensure high-speed interface compliance/conformance by doing measurements using lab equipment, like oscilloscope, logic analyzer, power supplies, TDR, VNA, etc.
• Develop test methods, fixtures, and benches to verify and validate silicon/system designs against physical, functional, and performance requirements
• Analyze testing data and collaborate with cross-functional teams on failure root cause and design changes
• Participate in design review and xFMEA meetings to ensure lessons learned and best practices are incorporated
• Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to build testability into designs

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• BS in electrical engineering or a related discipline, MS preferred
• Scripting skills in Python, Shell, or other scripting languages
• 2+ years of experience in validation/EEE test of server or networking equipment, consumer electronics, or related industries
• Familiar with common lab testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, logic analyzers, thermal and environmental chambers, data acquisition systems, spectrum analyzers, etc.
• SI/PI measurement experience

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Detailed knowledge with one or more interface protocols, like PCIe, DDR, USB2/3, Ethernet, etc.
• Compliance test suite experience with high-speed interfaces, like DDR, SATA2/3, HDMI, PCIe, etc.
• Silicon bringup/debug experience, understand verification methodologies and be able to convert/associate test vectors/patterns into test codes
• Experience or knowledge of ICT, boundary scan, 3-D X-ray, etc.
