Why Patients Need You
Pfizer’s purpose is to deliver breakthroughs that change patients’ lives. Research and Development is at the heart of fulfilling Pfizer’s purpose as we work to translate advanced science and technologies into the therapies and vaccines that matter most. Whether you are in the discovery sciences, ensuring drug safety and efficacy, or supporting clinical trials, you will apply cutting edge design and process development capabilities to accelerate and bring the best-in-class medicines to patients around the world.
What You Will Achieve
The Antibody Engineering group is seeking an energetic, highly motivated, and creative Senior Scientist with a strong background in chemical biology, protein chemistry, and/or protein engineering to join Pfizer Oncology’s antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) discovery research team. You will conceive of novel ADC and/or targeted therapy technology platforms and work collaboratively with cancer biologists, immunologists, and translational scientists to advance these ideas into drug candidates. It is expected that the successful candidate will perform hands-on experiments to produce novel ADCs and generate preclinical data, think strategically about how to advance projects, and drive projects to clear go/no-go decision points.
How You Will Achieve It
- Conceptualize novel drug linker, bioconjugate, or protein engineering technology opportunities for therapeutic development (ADC or otherwise)
- Actively design and execute comprehensive experimental plans comprised of in vitro and in vivo experiments that inform and enable project progression
- Work independently and demonstrate the ability to contribute to projects outside their own expertise
- Effectively communicate and collaborate across a diverse research department to advance preclinical projects
- Present data at research project team meetings and seminars to drive recommendations for drug discovery and/or development decisions
- Contribute to and lead programs by executing lead optimization strategies and driving discovery goals
- Prepare patent applications and publish impactful research
- Expand the capabilities of the Antibody Engineering group by implementing new techniques and cutting-edge technologies
