Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with instrument qualification and meet PHI’s total flight time requirements.
  • Current Class II FAA Medical Certificate
  • 2000 Hrs. Total (1500 Hrs Helicopter)
  • 1000 Hrs. PIC Helicopters
  • Must meet and maintain weight restriction limit for flight personnel according to policy.
  • Ability to communicate verbally, effectively, and clearly in person and by radio.
  • Must be able to pass pre-placement physical exam including functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment, lift 100 pounds) drug screening and background screen.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure all paperwork is finished in a neat and accurate manner.
  • Keep the Lead Pilot/Area Manager informed of the operational status of his/her aircraft and makes sure the aircraft is airworthy before, during and after the flight.
  • Represents PHI in a professional manner which includes being neat in appearance and courteous to all internal and external customers.
  • Complies with other duties as assigned by supervisors.
  • Report all aircraft mechanical malfunctions by entering them in the aircraft engineering logbook.
  • Communicates mission status elements including itineraries, estimated time of arrival, etc., with medical crew, passengers, Communication Center, and Maintenance as appropriate.
  • Loads and unloads stretcher patients and/or isolettes onto aircraft.
  • Completes written logs and reports as required by the company and the FAA.
  • Supports company Safety Management System activities.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
