Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
  • Five years of work experience for support roles or zero to two years for professional roles
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 12 months
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
Responsibilities
  • Perform radiologic examinations in a timely, accurate, and safe manner for radiologist interpretation.
  • Review schedule and patient records 3-5 days prior to scheduled appointment to evaluate exam/facility appropriateness and contraindications for the exam.
  • Work with radiologists, referring physicians, and clinics to address any issues prior to patient arrival for exam.
  • Assure MRI suite and adjacent clinical and common areas are prepared to receive patient and visitors, including ensuring equipment is available and in working order, performing quality control per American College of Radiology and manufacturer guidelines, and reporting downtime or equipment errors promptly to service vendor, BioMed, supervisor, and manager as well as clinical staff.
  • Ensure all needed medical supplies are ordered and stowed; maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and patient areas and ensure equipment is cleaned per manufacturer, OSHA, DHEC, and MUSC infection control guidelines; report any environment issues in a timely manner to the manager.
  • Support culture of safety by analyzing workflows to improve safety, participating in PSI reporting and group meetings, addressing problems of patient care as they arise, and escalating issues as needed to the supervisor or care team.
