Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED and two years of experience working in human services.
  • A valid driver's license that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements.
  • Knowledge of social service resources in the local community.
  • At least one year of experience working in an office environment, including clerical skills such as phone etiquette, filing, and computer skills.
  • Ability to manage several tasks and projects.
  • Ability to think critically and make decisions independently of direct supervision.
  • Availability for overnight emergencies and day, evening, or overnight coverage, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Manage operations of assigned shifts in accordance with the organization's mission, philosophy, policies, and regulations.
  • Provide services to guests using trauma-informed principles.
  • Coordinate, delegate, and authorize staff duties to ensure effective operation of program services.
  • Read, interpret, and implement policies independently of direct supervision.
  • Supervise guests and manage the general operation and upkeep of the program.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, comfortable, and supportive environment consistent with program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Hire staff and prepare the training schedule in coordination with the Corps Officer.
  • Create Warming Center rules in coordination with the Corps Officer and ensure that staff and guests follow them.
  • Ensure that each guest is treated with dignity and respect.
  • Provide timely and concise reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree with one year of experience.
  • Prior experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Prior experience working in a team lead role.
