Requirements
  • At least 7 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in AS9100 or ISO-certified environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and military standards.
  • Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, audits, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Familiarity with inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Strong leadership, team development, communication, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements across both business units.
  • Ensure execution of inspections, audits, and quality controls.
  • Oversee nonconformance reports, return material authorizations, first article inspections, and engineering change activities.
  • Lead internal and external audits, including customer and registrar audits.
  • Ensure adherence to specifications, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support contract review and risk assessment processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality interactions.
  • Manage customer audits, supplier corrective action requests, corrective actions, and scorecards.
  • Partner with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Quality Inspectors, Engineers, and Test Technicians.
  • Manage hiring, onboarding, and performance management within the department.
  • Ensure proper staffing and coverage to meet production demands.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action efforts.
  • Implement sustainable improvements to reduce defects and variation.
  • Drive process improvements in collaboration with Production and Engineering.
  • Track and report quality key performance indicators to leadership, including scrap, rework, first-pass yield, and customer returns.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Maintain AS9100 certification and improve customer quality performance across both organizations.
