Extended School Year Teacher of the Blind and Visually Impaired

Job Summary\:

The Extended School Year program is hiring Teachers of the BIind and Visually Impaired to provide direct instruction, adaptive materials, and consultative support to students with visual impairments to facilitate their compensation for a sensory deficit and to access the academic curriculum.

 Essential Functions\:

• Provide instruction in Unified English Braille (UEB) Nemeth Code, visual discrimination, and other areas specific to students with visual impairments

• Knowledge of Neurological Visual Impairments and facilitation techniques to support visual access

• Independently plan and effectively deliver curriculum based on needs specified in Individual Educational Plans.
• Observes, evaluates and prepares reports on progress of students.
