Fulcrum builds tools to help developers test, audit, and improve AI agents trained with reinforcement learning. Its platform includes red-teaming agents that simulate adversarial scenarios in RL environments and an agentic debugger that surfaces the most critical data to human operators, enabling them to steer, correct, and monitor AI agents at scale. This setup uses scalable oversight interfaces and deployed auditing agents to examine entire agent ecosystems, not just individual models. Compared with typical AI testing tools, Fulcrum emphasizes end-to-end evaluation and monitoring of agent behavior and decision processes, aiming to make AI systems more reliable and transparent. The goal is to improve AI safety, reliability, and evaluation by providing practical, scalable means to audit and supervise AI agents in real time.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • YC updated August 25, 2026, signaling continued batch visibility and founder support.
  • Demand rises as developers need debugging for reward hacking, catastrophic failures, and misleading outputs.
  • Their oversight niche aligns with safety-conscious teams shipping agentic systems in 2026.

What critics are saying

  • Two founders cannot defend against OpenAI, Anthropic, and internal platform teams building similar tooling.
  • YC page shows only active product interest, not customers, revenue, or retention.
  • If RL agents disappoint buyers in 2026, Fulcrum’s niche becomes a research utility, not infrastructure.

What makes Fulcrum unique

  • YC Summer 2025-backed, two-person team focused on RL environment debugging.
  • Red-teaming agents inspect environments, traces, and source code for root-cause diagnosis.
  • Explorable chat reports turn agent failures, reward hacking, and fake solutions into actionable workflows.
