Requirements
  • 8-10 years of hands-on software engineering experience, including a minimum of six years designing and building on the Salesforce Platform in a pro-code capacity using Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, and platform APIs.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a technical lead or architect for a Salesforce organization of comparable scale and complexity, holding technical design authority and owning code review and engineering standards for a development team.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising a team of software developers, including the technical work required.
  • Hands-on Salesforce DevOps experience with source-driven development using Salesforce DX, Git-based branching and merge strategy, automated CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Copado, or Gearset, static code analysis, and automated test frameworks.
  • Experience delivering Salesforce integrations to enterprise systems of record through an API management or integration platform, including event-driven, bulk, and near-real-time data patterns.
  • Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tooling such as Claude Code or a comparable generative AI coding assistant in a professional software delivery environment.
  • Hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud development experience, including AMPscript, Server-Side JavaScript, SQL activities, data extensions, Journey Builder, and Marketing Cloud APIs or Marketing Cloud Connect.
  • Experience in banking, financial services, or another regulated industry, working within formal change-management, audit, and information-security control frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Financial Services Cloud and nCino, including configuration and pro-code extension of the nCino Loan Origination System and management of nCino release upgrades.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II certification.
  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect certification, or the underlying Data Architect and Sharing and Visibility Architect certifications.
  • Salesforce Certified System Architect certification.
  • Salesforce Certified JavaScript Developer I certification.
  • Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Developer certification.
  • Salesforce Financial Services Cloud Accredited Professional certification.
  • nCino platform certification, such as nCino Certified Professional.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and related training.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical design authority for the Salesforce platform, owning end-to-end technical architecture across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Financial Services Cloud while ensuring designs conform to approved Architecture Decision Records and Enterprise Architecture standards.
  • Lead all pro-code development on the platform, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL and SOSL optimization, Platform Events, asynchronous processing, and legacy Visualforce remediation, and establish coding standards, design patterns, and reusable frameworks.
  • Own and continuously improve Salesforce DevOps practices, including source-driven development with Salesforce DX, Git branching and merge strategy, automated CI/CD pipelines, metadata governance, static code analysis, automated test execution, and scratch-org and sandbox lifecycle management.
  • Define and enforce platform release management, including environment strategy, deployment automation, rollback procedures, release documentation, and separation-of-duties controls.
  • Perform and approve design and code reviews for internal and vendor-delivered work, gating promotion to higher environments based on coding standards, test-coverage thresholds, security requirements, and performance criteria.
  • Design and govern Salesforce integration architecture with the Integration team, including API-led patterns through the enterprise integration platform, event-driven integration, and bulk and streaming data flows to core banking, identity, and data platforms.
  • Partner with the Salesforce administration team on data model and sharing, visibility, and security architecture, providing technical design input and review on profiles, permission sets, field-level security, encryption, and least-privilege access design.
  • Monitor and tune application-level performance across the platform, including Apex execution, query efficiency, governor-limit consumption, and integration throughput, and drive the technical-debt remediation roadmap to completion.
  • Partner with the Salesforce administration team on org-capacity monitoring, including API request volumes, data and file storage consumption, and license utilization, and provide technical analysis and remediation options.
  • Provide technical leadership for Marketing Cloud development where applicable, including data extensions, AMPscript, Server-Side JavaScript, Journey Builder configuration, and Marketing Cloud Connect or API-based integration with the core Salesforce organization.
  • Contribute technical input to platform roadmaps and delivery planning by supplying solution options, effort estimates, and sequencing considerations to product owners, business stakeholders, and Enterprise Architecture.
  • Evaluate Salesforce seasonal releases, nCino release upgrades, AppExchange packages, and new platform capabilities, including platform AI features, for technical fit and risk, and present recommendations through the Bank's architecture governance process.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate manual effort and automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability, observability, and supportability.
  • Direct the technical work of vendor, contractor, and systems-integrator resources, review deliverables against design and quality standards, validate billed effort against demonstrable output, and escalate quality or delivery gaps.
  • Establish and maintain the platform's technical documentation baseline, including architecture and sequence diagrams, Architecture Decision Records, integration specifications, operational runbooks, and developer onboarding materials.
  • Represent the Salesforce platform in the Enterprise Architecture Committee and other governance forums, presenting designs for review and responding to audit, risk, and examination inquiries with supporting evidence.
  • Provide licensing, tooling, environment, and effort estimates for platform budgeting, capacity forecasting, and vendor-engagement scoping.
  • Advise the Product team on technical design in and around the nCino Loan Origination System, including supported extension patterns, integration touchpoints, upgrade-impact assessment, and regression-testing considerations for custom code interacting with the package.
  • Establish and govern the team's AI-assisted development practice, including approved generative AI coding tools such as Claude Code, context-engineering and reusable-prompt standards, mandatory human review of AI-generated code, and controls for data handling, licensing, and intellectual property.
  • Lead and develop a team of Salesforce developers and set and enforce engineering standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on technical depth in Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a significant advantage.
