Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Fashion or Merchandising, or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of related experience in retail merchandising.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities.
  • Solid knowledge of retail financial measurements.
  • Strong fashion sense and awareness of brand and client needs.
  • Strong business acumen with potential to grow into a Merchant role.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Responsibilities
  • Support execution of departmental strategies and business objectives to achieve or exceed financial plans.
  • Generate, analyze, and distribute weekly, monthly, and seasonal reports.
  • Analyze business trends, recommend actions, and apply insights to future departmental strategies.
  • Provide applicable historical information and market research.
  • Manage daily merchandising tasks, including assortment sheets, receipt updates, sample accuracy, handoffs, and timely cross-functional communication.
  • Prepare materials for key Product Lifecycle meetings, including Hindsight and Investment Review.
  • Research fashion trends, pricing, promotions, and competitive activity, and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Recommend style ranking, attributes, and chase/cancel strategies.
  • Provide information and ideas to support development of seasonal strategies.
  • Actively participate on the cross-functional team and make recommendations to drive results.
  • Build cross-functional relationships and contribute as a solution-oriented team member.
  • Demonstrate the ability to affect key decisions within the cross-functional team.

Sarah Evans named chief human resources officer at KnitWell Group

KnitWell Group, a specialty retail apparel company with eight American brands, has appointed Sarah Evans as chief human resources officer. Evans will lead human resources across KnitWell's portfolio, which includes Ann Taylor, Chico's, Lane Bryant, LOFT and Talbots, whilst overseeing corporate communications, belonging and philanthropy. Evans brings extensive experience from large, multi-channel businesses. Most recently, she served as chief human resources officer at Ocean Spray, leading global human resources and corporate communications. Previously, she held senior HR roles at Terminix and Walmart, supporting workforces ranging from 4,000 to over two million employees worldwide.
