About the Position
We are looking for a Product Management intern to join our Product and Technology team this summer. The ideal candidate will have the ability to serve as a creative problem solver with knowledge of the features and traits that separate great products from mediocre ones. This is a paid internship and a completely remote position.
The Product Management Intern will spend the summer researching, designing, and prototyping digital tools for internal use as well as products for The Markup's readers. Activities will also include gathering requirements, writing user stories, and working with designers and developers.

Responsibilities
- Leverage data analytics, A/B testing, qualitative user research, and predictive modeling to optimize research and reporting
- Work with the Director of Product to identify new business opportunities
- Conduct research & analysis of market trends in digital journalism, with a focus on privacy issues and data journalism
- Document findings and results in a clear and concise manner
- Work with engineers to devise technically feasible solutions for product ideas
Qualifications
- A student currently enrolled in a full-time degree program pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
- Legally eligible to work in the US
- Familiarity with AGILE software development
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Excellent documentation and presentation skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work remotely with reliable high-speed internet
Nice to Haves
- Experience managing the visual organization of information
- Experience with WordPress

Compensation and Other Details
This internship is full-time, pays $20 per hour (pre-tax), and lasts 10 weeks between June and August. Exact start and end dates can be adjusted to fit the chosen candidate’s academic calendar.
This is a fully remote position open to eligible students anywhere in the US.
