Organization's Summary Statement:
Veterinary Medicine Department
The person hired for this position will assume a leadership role in projects focusing on
enterovirus replication. The responsibilities will include developing new quantitative replication
assays, preparing samples for proteomics and transcriptomics analysis, and developing
CRISPR gene knockouts in different cell types. Supervisory activities will include managing
postdoctoral researchers and graduate students. The person will also be responsible for
maintaining laboratory inventories of virus stocks, cell cultures, plasmids, and chemicals.
Responsibilities:
Developing in vitro assays for picornavirus replication
Maintaining cell culture
Virology plaque assays
Maintaining lab records and inventories
Physical Demands:
The position involves handling BSL2 level pathogens; the person in this position should not have major immune deficiencies
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in life sciences
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in virology, microbiology, or molecular biology
