- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the Association of Surgical Technologists or as a Surgical Technician by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting is required.
- New graduates must obtain certification within six months of hire, provide the exam date before starting employment, and complete a six-month probationary period from the date of hire.
- Knowledge of perioperative nursing practice and patient care is required.
- There is an on-call requirement for weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
- Function as a scrub person, circulation assistant, and member of the surgical team.
- Provide crucial support to physicians throughout surgical procedures, including bariatric, robotic, and laparoscopic procedures.
- Assist with the care, preparation, and maintenance of supplies and equipment in the Operating Room.
- Prior experience as an Operating Room or Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting.
