Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and two years of marketing experience, with combined experience and education accepted as a substitute for the minimum education.
  • Experience or education in marketing, publications, public relations, business administration, communication, advertising, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Write and edit copy for marketing projects, including publications, advertisements, press releases, and announcements.
  • Manage, coordinate, and help run live events, including staffing and loading marketing assets in and out.
  • Administer the department marketing calendar and monitor schedules, production, distribution arrangements, and other details to ensure timely completion and quality control.
  • Work with the business office to gather vendor quotes and invoices, issue purchase orders, and reconcile marketing expenses.
  • Coordinate activities that promote awareness of department services and products through direct mail, telemarketing, advertising, publicity, community relations, and special events.
  • Analyze, monitor, and evaluate marketing efforts for effectiveness.
  • Coordinate the design, production, and distribution of publications and promotional materials, including press releases, advertisements, catalogs, brochures, flyers, signage, audiovisual presentations, displays, and exhibits.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with internal and external marketing professionals and vendors, including artists, designers, photographers, mailing houses, postal services, list brokers, advertising representatives, and media contacts.
  • Coordinate the work of contracted vendors and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Coordinate surveys and other market research instruments to collect appropriate information.
  • Compile and analyze information and prepare reports and other documentation for management review.
  • Administer marketing budgets.
  • Coordinate advertising placement and schedules.
  • Coordinate the appropriate use of university and department logos, emblems, and indicia.
  • Research and prepare budget proposals for marketing purposes.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree and three years of marketing experience.
  • Experience with HubSpot.
  • Experience working with live events.
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills.
  • Expertise in inbound marketing and customer relationship management techniques.
  • Affinity for the arts, especially classical music.
