Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all aspects of Radiology nursing, including assessment, evaluation, and coordination of nursing care.
  • Performing patient assessment, patient and family teaching and triage.
  • Provides primary clinical support to the provider and patient to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient's condition.
  • Follows up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity and care.
  • Administers medications and treatments according to policy and procedure.
  • Assesses patient responses to medications and testing per protocols and document information in medical record.
  • Assures all necessary paperwork and information is present for procedures.
  • Prepares patients for procedures, including reviewing history and medication list, etc.
  • Assesses patients’ physical status as well as their understanding of the procedure.
  • Provides patient and family education.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises care based upon patient response to interventions.
  • Provides Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • Performs emergency procedures when necessary; transports equipment to patient’s bedside when necessary.
  • Starts and regulates oxygen.
  • Assists with patient transport as required.
  • Assists with therapies including assessing vitals and administering medications.
  • Assists with orientation of personnel and students.
  • Responsible for assessment of lab results prior to procedures.
  • Assist throughout the radiology department with nursing needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS are preferred at time of hire and required after hire.
