Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Food Engineering, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field is mandatory.
  • Professional certification in HACCP is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in Hygiene, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience managing internal and external audits and food safety inspections.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supplier audits, microbiological monitoring, and food safety risk assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety legislation, hygiene management systems, and local regulatory requirements in India.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, and reporting skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Leadership and team management capabilities with experience training and developing staff.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic, diverse, and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Resilience and adaptability in responding to changing regulatory requirements and operational challenges.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive hygiene management systems and sanitation protocols across all operational departments.
  • Conduct regular internal and external hygiene audits, food safety inspections, and compliance assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Manage supplier audits and microbiological monitoring programs to maintain hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Perform food safety risk assessments and implement corrective action management procedures to address identified gaps.
  • Lead and mentor the hygiene team by providing training, guidance, and support to ensure consistent execution of hygiene standards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and records of hygiene-related activities, audit findings, and corrective actions.
  • Analyze hygiene data and prepare reports for management highlighting trends, risks, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with operations, procurement, and quality assurance teams to integrate hygiene best practices.
  • Monitor evolving food safety legislation and local regulatory requirements to ensure organizational compliance.
  • Develop and deliver hygiene training programs for staff at all levels.
  • Manage hygiene-related budgets and resources while optimizing operational effectiveness.
  • Respond to hygiene concerns and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Foster a transparent and inclusive hygiene culture that encourages staff participation and continuous improvement.
Desired Qualifications
  • ISO 22000 Lead Auditor certification or equivalent food safety certifications.
