Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or General Educational Development credential is required.
  • New York State Licensed Practical Nurse licensure is required upon hire.
  • The role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The role requires the ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from physicians, patients, family members, and other employees.
  • Workforce members must protect sensitive information, including HIPAA Protected Health Information, according to applicable policies and statutes.
Responsibilities
  • Obtain and accurately record patients’ vital signs.
  • Document components of patients’ histories.
  • Communicate openly and appropriately with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Participate in in-office procedures under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.
  • Perform diagnostic Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments-waived testing.
  • Perform venipuncture to obtain blood for laboratory testing.
  • Make prescription call-backs within the scope of practice.
  • Prepare patients’ charts with pertinent clinical information.
  • Maintain supply inventory and keep patient examination rooms stocked.
  • Adhere to Albany Medical Center regulatory compliance requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a patient-care setting is preferred.
