Requirements
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited university with a degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or closely related field
  • Working knowledge of common software including AutoCAD/FX, Sketch-up, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-design), Microsoft Word, MS Excel, and Geographic Information System (GIS)
  • Strong freehand illustration and computer rendering skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability self-regulate multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Portfolio or work samples will be required if considered for an interview
Responsibilities
  • Learn and implement illustration, design and CAD standards established for the group and be accountable for their proper implementation
  • Build increasing skills in review and interpretation of regulatory codes, ordinances, and comprehensive plans
  • Review and analyze land features relating to opportunities and constraints for development
  • Visit pre-development sites to conduct tree surveys and site analysis used in the design process
  • Develop and refine a design methodology that results in creative, sound solutions to a given problem
  • Build increasing skills in preparing hard-scape, grading, planting and irrigation graphics, plans and illustrations using both digital and hand drawn formats
  • Begin to participate in project meetings with staff, clients, & regulatory agencies
  • Consult with product manufacturers to research, evaluate and select construction materials
  • Begin visiting construction sites to gather information and support senior project team members during the construction phase

  • Working toward or desire to gain license as a Registered Landscape Architecture
