- At the American Red Cross, we conduct many mobile blood drives at businesses, schools and many other locations. All staff work as a team to setup and tear down the equipment required to conduct a mobile blood drive.
- Basic computer skills are required. Must be proficient with Microsoft office applications.
- Take the time to personally connect with donors – listen to their stories and help them understand how impactful their donation is.
- Collaborate with your teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment so our volunteer donors feel comfortable coming back again and again.
- Be detailed oriented all day, every day. This ensures that the blood you collect meets goals, regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.
- May drive Red Cross vehicles and you will work with the team to setup and tear down equipment at the donation sites.
- Position may require a minimum height of 60 inches to ensure the ability to safely operate Red Cross vehicles.
- Standard Schedule (Norfolk, Virginia): To best meet the needs of our donors and community, staff work a variable schedule which may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Overnight travel may be required in some locations.

Safety Village, Red Cross partner for fire safety initiative. The Chautauqua Safety Village and the American Red Cross have begun a new collaboration supported by a grant from the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation. The pilot project bridges the gap between simulated safety training and active home preparation with a goal to reduce fire-related tragedies in Dunkirk. This spring, 138 first-grade students from Dunkirk Schools 3, 5 and 7 attended fire and traffic safety training at the Safety Village facility. Students practiced what they learned in a simulated environment improving their response to emergencies. The Chautauqua Safety Village, the Red Cross, and Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation distributed critical safety resources directly to students' families. Each participating household received a fire safety ladder funded by the NCCF grant to provide a safe secondary exit from upper floors, alongside home fire safety resources from the Red Cross that help families physically map their layout, identify two routes out of every room, and designate an outside meeting place. Additionally, the materials include direct resource referrals and flyers connecting families to free, personalized in-home safety planning and free smoke alarm installations. Since its inception in 2014, the American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign has resulted in more than 2,600 hundred lives saved nationally, and 63 within the Western New York region. Moving forward, the project's goal is to encourage partnerships with Chautauqua County school districts.
Trios Health partnering with American Red Cross to host Blood Drive on September 14. July 28, 2026 Trios Health will host a blood drive with the American Red Cross on Monday, September 14, from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Trios Care Center at Southridge. Moore Motor Sales to host blood drive. CARO - Moore Motor Sales will partner with the American Red Cross and Neighborhood Michigan Ford Dealers to host a community blood drive on Friday, July 31, as part of the statewide Roll Up & Give campaign. The blood drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the showroom at Moore Motor Sales, 1725 W. Caro Road. Roll Up & Give is a summer blood donation campaign organized by Neighborhood Michigan Ford Dealers in support of Ford Motor Company's Building Together initiative. The campaign is designed to help address seasonal blood shortages by encouraging donations at more than 30 participating dealerships across four Michigan markets. The event comes as the American Red Cross has declared an emergency blood shortage after the nation's blood supply fell nearly 25% in June. The organization says blood donations have dropped sharply since late May while hospital demand has increased during the summer trauma season, when emergency rooms typically treat more patients with serious injuries. The shortage is especially severe for O positive and B negative blood types, although donations of all blood types are needed. According to the Red Cross, someone in the United States needs blood or platelets every two seconds. Donated blood is used to treat trauma victims, cancer patients, people with sickle cell disease, mothers experiencing childbirth complications and patients undergoing major surgeries. Because blood has a limited shelf life and cannot be manufactured, the supply relies entirely on volunteer donors. In addition to blood donations, the Moore Motor Sales event will feature games, food, music and family-friendly activities designed to create a community celebration while supporting a lifesaving cause. The Roll Up & Give campaign was piloted in West Michigan during the summer of 2025, when 13 Ford dealerships collected 363 units of blood and welcomed 232 first-time donors. This year's campaign runs from June 4 through July 31, with participating Neighborhood Michigan Ford dealerships working to collect as many blood donations as possible across the state.
