Requirements
  • S. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in digital design.
  • Working knowledge of Xilinx design/debug tools and SoC (MPSoC or RFSoC) programmable logic devices.
  • Experience designing and integrating digital circuitry to include FPGAs, DSPs, and fundamental circuit elements.
  • Proficient in VHDL
  • Experience integrating IP Cores in Vivado
  • Experience developing testbenches
  • Automotive and commercial electronics background welcome.
  • Timing closure of FPGA design
  • Familiar with PCB design and common electrical interfaces: PCIe, USB, Display Port and I2C/SPI/UART buses.
  • Experience implementing and evaluating performance of DSP algorithms.
  • Self-starter and able to perform under minimal supervision.
  • Success in designing, developing, testing, of electronics.
  • Experience in analyzing, simulation, and testing of electronics.
  • Experience with in-lab testing and measurement techniques.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft electrical systems and knowledge of radiation effects.
  • Understanding of PCB layout, PCBA manufacturing, component selection and environmental qualifications.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
Responsibilities
  • Work in a collaborative and energetic engineering team environment to design the electronics for a commercial human spaceflight.
  • Develop custom IP Cores according to design requirements
  • Interface with external companies to create custom IP cores
  • Integrate IP cores into top-level FPGA design
  • Interface with software and PCB designers to ensure FPGA design meets system-level requirements
  • Generate design documentation and test reports as necessary
  • Exposure to standard interfaces like AXI-4, AXI-S, Ethernet, PCIe etc.
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC principles and applications.
  • Understand the requirements and develop FPGA architecture to meet the requirements.
  • Troubleshoot hardware (systems and subassemblies) to determine root cause of failures and identify corrective actions.
  • Perform trade studies for technical solutions, including make/buy recommendations.
  • Develop documentation that supports analysis, component deratings, and design reviews.
  • Interface, communicate, and drive decisions with cross discipline teams.
  • Resolve problems encountered in testing and verification processes.
  • Familiar with designing for a radiation tolerant environment.
