Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in biology, physiology, or related field OR 4 or more years of related experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as exceptional organizational skills in order to coordinate disparate, parallel tasks related to different programs
  • Ability to work well as a member of a large team with a focus on overall success and product delivery to the customer
  • Positive disposition and a conscientious can-do attitude are a must
  • Willingness to grow beyond the specialty acquired in formal education/training via ad hoc learning of new technical domains reflective of program requirements
  • 1 or more years of experience working with a government research funding program
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Able to travel locally, nationally, and internationally as needed for meetings and conferences
Responsibilities
  • Manage the tracking and updating of scientific protocols, technical reports, sponsor reports, presentations, abstracts, and publications for scientific, military, and academic audiences
  • Manage and coordinate the planning, scheduling, and follow-up actions of research events
  • Effectively and efficiently respond to urgent inquiries and requests
  • Develop meeting agendas and summaries
  • Draft and track submission of travel and Public Affairs Office authored works approval
  • Support the Principal Investigator (PI) and Research Program Manager (RPM) in drafting and review of research proposals or briefings with an interdisciplinary team for multiple funding agencies and sponsors, incorporating comprehensive statements of work, letters of support, and budget proposals
  • Collect and coordinate critical technical program related documents and provide thoughtful edits and input
  • Maintain organized files to store program related briefings, documentation, contracts, reports, etc., to include tracking of all deliverables associated with the government Principle Investigator efforts
  • Develop support agreements for customer partnerships
  • Track partner, vendor, and subcontractor performance on assigned projects
  • Track and coordinate all taskers/drills/exercises within the program/department to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Identify equipment needs, manage equipment purchases and tracking, equipment maintenance, and relationships with vendors
  • Develop efficient processes for equipment procurement
  • Manage equipment turnover and inventory for contract and government customer
  • Work overnights, on weekends, and holidays as needed for research project execution
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required for project, program, and contract needs
  • Work is primarily conducted at the customer site in Point Loma in San Diego, CA and at approved travel destinations
  • With approval, occasional telework would be permitted

Desired Qualifications
  • 3 or more years of experience in human subjects research studies
  • 3 or more years of experience in military specific human subjects research projects
  • 3 or more years of experience working with a government research funding program
  • PMP Certification
  • Active Secret Clearance
