Requirements
  • Completion of a Radiology Technology program.
  • No experience is required.
  • ARRT-R Radiography certification and ARRT-M Mammography certification are required for Wisconsin.
  • A Wisconsin radiographer license is required.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification is required where specified.
Responsibilities
  • Operate mammography equipment and perform mammography-related procedures, including preparing and positioning patients and selecting anatomic and technical parameters.
  • Explain procedures and educate patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
  • Develop and evaluate images for technical quality, including density, contrast, definition, and distortion.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Submit high-quality images and documentation to PACS promptly, ensuring image quality, correct marking, and accurate patient data and history.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report potential problems or malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and other departmental areas.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
