Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial, Finance, or Science
  • Qualified actuary
  • 10 years+ experience
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • High degree of numeracy

  • Experience in leading or working on all areas of an internal model
  • Knowledge of catastrophe models, investment analysis, PML calculations

Responsibilities
  • Lead the internal economic capital model
  • Develop model to support portfolio optimization and underwriting strategy
  • Lead embedded model uses such as reinsurance analysis and optimization, capital allocation, and strategic opportunities
  • Calibration of insurance risk and own view of risk on external vendor models
  • Provide timely and accurate economic capital metrics to senior management, regulatory bodies, and rating agencies
  • Improve model governance including documentation and processes
  • Analysis of model results and 1st line validation
  • Produce the capital dashboard and evaluate different capital management options
  • Design, build, and operate stress and scenario modeling tools to assist with the ORSA
  • Management of end-to-end projects reporting to Head of Capital Management
  • Integral part of the current design and future development of model components
  • Communication of results and opportunities to develop model MI
  • Work with other group functions to enhance the use of the internal model within the organization
  • Analysis and communication of solvency position, risk tolerances, and capital trends to internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and reviewer on all aspects related to internal capital model
