Job Description:

Role: 

• Broadcom VMC on AWS team delivers some of the fundamental components of VMware SDDCaaS offering on AWS public cloud. We are seeking an engineer to build, maintain and grow the VMC technology!
• As a member of our team, you will architect, design and build software to provide a myriad of SaaS and SDDC features for virtual machines and containers running on VMC on AWS.
• You will develop innovative, complex, highly distributed and available SaaS layer that is highly scalable, manageable, and fault tolerant as well. You would work in an environment where innovation is fostered and encouraged . You’ll interact with industry thought leaders. • As a member of the VMC team you’ll be part of a bright engineering team that is working on VMC Platform and all the aspects of VMC Product life cycle. You will define, develop, test and support VMC offerings for Commerce, Metering, Usage Reporting, Capacity Management verticals. If you have a real passion for building cloud systems that are highly scalable, manageable, and fault tolerant, then you will fit right in.

Job responsibilities: 

• Define, implement, and support complex software modules in VMC micro-service architecture for Commerce, Metering, Usage Reporting, Capacity Management verticals.
• Lead major initiatives/projects independently and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle. 
• Develop and apply innovative technologies and concepts todesign, develop, maintain VMC features and functions. 
• Act as a Technical or business consulting resource to business level managers including providingdetailed scheduled estimates for development efforts. 
• Help maintain technical acumen in key technology areas to help guide the evolution of our platform
• Represents the company at industry forum and conferences
• Lead and mentor engineers to achieve group objectives.
• Set direction for high-impact and/or long-range strategic/technical projects

Skill requirements: 

• Bachelors and 12+ years of related experience; at this level a postgraduate degree is typically expected or Masters degree and 10+ years of related experience or PhD and 7+ years of related experience.    
• Strong fundamentals in Distributed Systems, Concurrency, Clustering, and Multi-threaded systems. 
• Significant Java/C++ coding experience. 
• Strong analytical and debugging skills. 
• Exposure to building cloud based services.
• Experience participating in agile development is a plus.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented and demonstrated ability to add value and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
