  • Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years

Responsibilities
  • Diagnosing complex system problems across optics, high vacuum systems, software, electronics, mechanics, robotics, motions systems. He or she will work closely with hardware, software and algorithm engineers to ensure the overall success of the integration work, perform validation tests, generate test reports and participate in design modifications to improve subsystem and system performance.
  • Daily responsibilities. This person will define requirements for our industry leading vacuum platform including critical vacuum components, pneumatics, wiring, EMO diagrams, interlock matrix. He or she will provide oversight and collaboration with the state of the art vendors to make sure design meets or exceeds requirements. It is essential for the team success that this innovative person can remove obstacles, address questions, and maintain and efficiently resolve open issues lists.
  • Design and build ultra-clean vacuum systems, including analysis, components selection, hardware and software integration and operation.
  • Design and analyze vacuum systems in order to integrate it with other critical equipment.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.
  • Play integral role in coordinating design aspects between multiple internal groups and key vendors.
  • Take responsibility for the system development process, from requirements specification to analysis, prototyping, testing, debugging, writing assembly procedures.
  • Responsible for the complete design process, including:
  • Own full design cycle from defining mechanical architecture to developing manufacturing drawings, handling / improving prototypes and documentations.
  • Driving requirements specification
  • Conceptual and detailed design, detailed drawings, using 3D solid modeling (ProE/Creo)
  • Hold design reviews throughout design process
  • System integration and testing
  • Create assembly and test procedures
  • Documentation release and handoff to manufacturing.
  • Support the following activities in the mechanical design process:
  • Work with cross-functional teams to establish tool requirements / specifications.
  • Feasibility studies
  • Cost and scheduling
  • Planning and scheduling design reviews throughout DfX process
  • Assist with prototype assembly and testing.
  • Address and resolve product issues through all phases.
