Requirements
  • Communication skills: you will report to the Director of Product Engineering and be expected to provide clear communications to leadership about your teams progress. You will need to be a strong cross-functional partner that can fulfill their deliverables.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills: experience mentoring and managing engineers as they grow their skillsets and enhance their impact on the team.
  • Knowledge leader in product development and systems engineering: HV architecture, DFMEA and PFMEA, identification of critical-to-quality characteristics, requirement definition and documentation, 8D, 5Y, Ishikawa, FTA, and other related engineering disciplines.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with high voltage systems. You should be familiar with relevant topics including safe handling, creepage and clearance, arc flash, cell protection strategies, fuse curves, and be able to supervise and train engineers to safely perform tear-downs and failure analysis.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, in engineering, preferably mechanical, electrical, or related field.
  • Over 5 years of experience in electromechanical product design with at least 3 years of that experience being in a leadership role.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of our Battery Packs for Data Center UPS and other applications.
  • Responsible for product definition, working cross-functionally to establish stakeholder needs, establishing system behaviors and architecture, and ultimately defining the product requirements.
  • Partner closely with Reliability and Test in the mapping requirements onto verification and validation, Quality on documentation and process, and be closely aligned with Product Management, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to ensure a successful design.
